Spiritual Living Minimize
We at Bethesda Nursing Home, care for our residents emotional, mental and physical needs. But if we ended right there, would you say it was enough? I wouldn’t, for Bethesda realizes that there is more to man and woman than just the emotional, mental and physical needs, there are also spiritual needs.

What led to this conclusion? It starts with the fact that Bethesda is a Christian home, affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). Being a Christian home does not mean that we cater only to Christians. We love our residents whether they are atheists or whether they are believers, whether they are Christian or Jewish, whether their belief system is rock-solid or whether they simply do not know what they believe. No, being a Christian home does not mean we exclude non-Christian beliefs but that we include Christian beliefs. And one of those Christian beliefs is that people have spiritual needs that need our care.

Jesus Christ said the greatest command is to love the Lord thy God with all of your heart, mind and soul. Christians believe that people have souls, and that these souls need nourishment. That’s why we have Chapel four mornings a week, (Mon-Thurs @ 8:30). That’s why we offer Catholic Mass as well as Protestant Communion. That’s why we hear the prayers of our residents, and pray for our residents in return. That’s why we say: "We at Bethesda Home endeavor to care for our residents emotional, mental, physical...AND!..spiritual needs!

AMEN!
