• Housekeeping
  Housekeeping has six full-time employees and a part-time employee. Our hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. During the week there are three people on staff, there are two on the weekends, and one staff member on holidays. Each resident room is cleaned thoroughly every day, and the entire facility is cleaned on a regular basis. Heritage Village is cleaned daily by the afternoon shift.
   
• Laundry
  There are four employees in the laundry department. Two people work each weekday, and one person works on weekends and holidays. They laundry hours are from 6:00 a.m. until all laundry is complete. Dirty clothes are picked up in the morning and we deliver clean personal clothes to resident rooms and linens to linen closets each day. Our staff staff washes, dries and folds 400+ lbs of laundry each day. Also, the attached Lake Area Hospital uses our laundry services for 130+ lbs of linen per day.

My name is Mel Nelson and I am the Director of Housekeeping and Laundry. I have worked for Bethesda since January of 2003. I enjoy working with the residents.

I am married to Bryan and have 2 girls and 1 boy and 2 grandaughters. We live by Wallace, SD.
